Background
Cloggers from Northeast Arkansas had always wanted the opportunity to dance with neighboring clogging groups. For years they thought they were the only cloggers in Arkansas because everywhere they exhibitioned in Arkansas, no one had ever heard of cloggers or clogging.
Through many years of planning and wanting to bring cloggers in Arkansas and cloggers from other states together, for the good of the dance, on September 9, 2000 our dream was realized and the Arkansas Clogging Council was formed.
The councils goal is to preserve and promote an American Folk Dance, "Clogging".
